Birthplace of Samuel Clemens, better known as Mark Twain. A short two-hour drive from St. Louis, it's a GREAT day trip or weekend get away with many historical sites to visit.

Just a two-hour drive from St. Louis, a charming little river town is waiting for your family to visit. Above is a lighthouse which rests atop one of the tallest hills around. Right: A bronze of the city's most famous inhabitant, Mark Twain.

Along the riverfront you can take a picture of the family beneath the wonderful backdrop pictured below/right.

Take a ride on the famous Mark Twain Mississippi Riverboat on one of three cruises daily or enjoy a romantic dinner cruise which leaves the dock at 6PM. (Bottom/Right)

A short drive from downtown is the spectacular view from "Lover's Leap," illustrated below.

So leave your worries behind and take a drive up to Hannibal. If you're one of the lucky ones who owns a cruiser, it's a beautiful run up the Mississippi and dock facilities are available for you when you arrive. Plenty of sightseeing, lodging, restaurants and quaint shops await.
